Camping Gear & Packing
Camping is a core part of Scouting, and preparation is key.
Essential Gear
Typical gear for most outings:
● Tent
● Sleeping bag
● Pillow
● Mess kit
● Sturdy closed-toe shoes
● Weather-appropriate clothing
● Rain gear
● Day pack (small backpack)
● Headlamp or flashlight
● Refillable water bottle
Troop can assist with loaner gear if needed
Packing Method
We recommend:
27-gallon tote (Lowe’s sells them, yellow top)
Benefits:
● Organized gear
● Easy transport; packs/stacks nicely in the Troop’s Trailer
● Encourages responsibility
